TODAY'S
WORKOUT
Trailblazer Hybrid Romp
Sat, 8 August 2026
Duration: 37 minutes, plus 4 minutes with Optional Challenge
A fun, high-energy hybrid session
Kettlebell, with dumbbell and bodyweight options, plus mat if needed
Warm-Up — Base Camp Buzz
Duration: 8 minutes Scheme: 2 rounds. Perform each movement for 40 seconds, then use 20 seconds to transition.
Instructions: Move through all four in order, then repeat. Nothing rushed — the aim is warm joints and a slightly quicker breath, not fatigue.
Six-Station Expedition
Time Cap: 19 minutes.
Format: intervals.
Scheme: 45s work / 15s rest, 3 rounds, plus a 60s breather after round two.
Instructions: One lap of the six stations takes six minutes. Complete three laps and take a full standing minute after the second lap to reset your grip and breathing. Choose loads you could carry for 45 seconds with a proud chest — around RPE 8 on the final lap, no higher.
Beginner Level
Do 2 laps of the six-station block instead of 3 (that's 12 minutes of work) and use the spare time to rest longer between stations. Halve the loads.
Intermediate / Advanced Options
Option 1: Add 4kg to the goblet squat walk and dumbbell deadlift, keeping the 45s windows.
Option 2: Run the main block as 50s work / 10s rest for all three laps.
Option 3: Take the EMOM to 6 minutes (3 rounds each) with a heavier front-rack bell.
Legs, Press and Core Blitz
Time Cap: 5 minutes.
Format: circuit.
Scheme: 30s work / 20s rest, 2 rounds.
Instructions: Two honest laps. Lighter load than the main block — this is about finishing tidy, not turning yourself inside out.
Optional Carry and Push EMOM
Complete the standard workout first. Add this challenge only if you still feel strong and your technique remains solid.
Time Cap: 4 minutes.
Format: EMOM.
Scheme: 4 minutes, alternating stations, 2 rounds each — rest whatever's left of the minute.
Instructions: Only if you still have gas in the tank. Minute one is the march, minute two the push-up, then repeat. Skip this entirely if the main block already took you to an 8.
Cool-Down — Trail's End Unwind
Scheme: Hold each position once, breathing long and slow.
Instructions: Settle in and let the heart rate drop. Nose breathing, no bouncing, no forcing.
Focus & Benefits
This full-body hybrid combines hinging, squatting, pushing and pulling with explosive conditioning and focused trunk work. The interval format develops repeatable work capacity while the alternating movement patterns prevent any one area from dominating the session. The optional front-rack march adds an extra test of grip, posture and trunk stability.
Pro Tip: On the goblet squat walk, take shorter steps than feel natural — small steps keep the bell quiet against your chest and stop your lower back doing the work.
